Creating Installation CDs From ISO Files

Creating an Installation CD Using Nero 5.5

  1. Download the ISO from the software-central.berkeley.edu site. It is recommended that you download the file to your desktop for easy location.
  2. Insert a blank CD into your computer's drive.
  3. Open the Nero application.
  4. If the Nero Wizard pops up choose the "CD" option and click "Next." If not select "Burn ROM" and continue.
  5. Choose the "Compile a new CD" option and click "Next."
  6. Choose the "Other CD formats" option and click "Next."
  7. Choose the "Create a CD from an image file" option and click "Next."
  8. Click "Finish."
  9. Choose the downloaded ISO file and click "Open."
  10. Choose the "Burn" option and click "Burn."

Creating an Installation CD using Roxio Easy CD Creator

  1. Download the ISO from the software-central.berkeley.edu site. It is recommended that you download the file to your desktop for easy location.
  2. Insert a blank CD into your computer's drive.
  3. Open the Roxio Easy CD Creator application.
  4. Upon opening the application, choose "Project Selector."
  5. Select the "make a data CD" button and choose "data cd project" (allows you to 'share or archive... images').
  6. Under the "File" menu select "Record CD from CD image..."
  7. Change the "Files of type" menu option to "ISO Image Files (*.iso). Your downloaded ISO file should appear above.
  8. Highlight this file and click "Open."
  9. Click the "Start Recording" Button.
