Proventsure
| Description: | Proventsure provides a suite of tools for assisting campus users in finding and eliminating sensitive data, such as social security numbers and credit card numbers, stored on local workstations. All Proventsure software is centrally funded through System and Network security and is available to the campus community free of charge.
Proventure Berkeley Assessor is a customized tool to allow campus users to search for files containing sensitive information on their workstations. Sensitive files can be deleted or encrypted from within the tool. The tool also contains system and data security information and links to help campus users identify types of restricted data and applicable campus policies for data handling. The Proventsure Governance & Compliance Platform automatically locates "sensitive" information and applies patent pending methodologies for risk assessment correlating the impact of a potential loss and the probability of that loss occurring. The software is designed to use a central management console for configuration and collection of data and can be configured for a department's individual needs.
